First Securities, formerly known as Taisec Securities, was incorporated in 1988 as a securities brokerage firm. In 1997, it added proprietary trading and underwriting operations to become a full-service securities company. In 2002, it renamed as First Taisce Securities .On July 31, 2003, which merged with the stock-brokerage unit of First Bank and altogether, they became the securities arm of First Financial Holding operating through 22 branches. On Dec. 31, 2008, it renamed as First Securities. The new First Securities continues to work on the objective of increasing market shares and transforming itself to become a well-recognized boutique securities house.
